Committee 11 / 13

Mandate and missions

The Legal Affairs Committee advises the Bloc’s governing bodies, checks that its texts and procedures comply with Organic Law 12-06 on associations and with the statutes, and reviews draft internal rules and agreements. The statutes require its prior advisory opinion before any official is suspended, removed from office or has their membership frozen (art. 42).

It also helps spread a culture of recourse to the law, a principle set out in the statutes (art. 4), together with the legal affairs, human rights and public freedoms officer of the National Executive Bureau. Its monthly report goes to the National Executive Bureau.

  • Provide legal advice to the Bloc’s bodies, committees and coordinations.
  • Ensure documents and procedures comply with Organic Law 12-06 and the statutes.
  • Review draft internal rules, agreements and contracts.
  • Give the prior advisory opinion on suspensions, removals and freezes (art. 42).
  • Hold awareness days to spread legal culture.
  • Monitor compliance with personal-data protection rules (Law 18-07).
