Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc takes part in the SADR’s 50th anniversary celebrations in Awserd

With the participation of a Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc delegation, celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic opened today in the presence of delegations from African and European countries, reflecting the breadth of international solidarity with this just cause. The Bloc’s participation is part of its commitment to supporting liberation causes and the values of solidarity between peoples.

Our participation in this historic occasion affirms our steadfast support for just causes and our solidarity with the brotherly Sahrawi people in their struggle for freedom, dignity and self-determination. Through this visit, the Bloc also seeks to strengthen cooperation and joint action with civil-society actors, in service of humanitarian principles and the values of brotherhood between peoples.

In a festive atmosphere, the anniversary saw a notable presence of African diplomats and political party leaders who voiced explicit support for the Sahrawi cause, reflecting the depth of Africa’s commitment to just causes. The meetings and group photos embodied a unity of positions around the principles of liberation and the right of peoples to self-determination.

The Bloc made its presence strongly felt through its president, Djelloul Chetouane, who continued his efforts to build bridges with African political and diplomatic actors, reinforcing regional support for the cause. This participation confirms that the Sahrawi cause enjoys growing political momentum across the continent.

The celebrations were also attended by several European delegations of human-rights activists and defenders of oppressed peoples. The Bloc’s president helped strengthen ties with these foreign delegations and raise awareness of just causes, within a vision based on solidarity and international openness — a strong message that the causes of oppressed peoples still enjoy broad support from free people around the world.

The delegation also shared a moment and a souvenir photo with Sahrawi fighters, symbols of steadfastness and sacrifice.
