Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc reviews its role in the presidential campaign through its wilaya offices

In line with the programme set by the leadership of the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution for the presidential election of 7 September, the Institution followed the second phase of the election — the campaign — through its wilaya coordination offices across the country, through two types of activity.

The first consisted of continuing awareness campaigns on the need for strong turnout and spreading political awareness among citizens in order to end voter apathy, through a massive turnout on 7 September. This work was marked by the strong presence of the Institution’s representatives, who worked with seriousness and commitment to make these campaigns a success, involving the State’s consultative institutions such as the National Observatory of Civil Society and the High Council of Youth, as well as other civil-society actors, foremost among them the political parties that had responded to the Bloc’s earlier initiative inviting them to open up to civil society and contribute to social cohesion, embodying the close interdependence between political parties and civil society.

The second type of activity consisted of campaigning for independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, whom the Institution had been the first to urge to seek a second term, in recognition of the commitments fulfilled during his first term and of the need to complete the rest in the second.

The Institution complied with the recommendations of the National Independent Election Authority on campaign ethics as provided by law, and followed the guidance of independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s general campaign directorate, headed by Mr Merad. The wilaya coordinators worked with the wilaya campaign directors in an enthusiastic atmosphere of transparency and integrity, for a victorious Algeria.

The Bloc’s participation in the campaign was strong and distinctive, especially as many of its members were assigned roles as wilaya campaign directors. Wilayas that saw strong participation by the Bloc include, among others: Ain Defla, Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Tindouf, Bouira, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Bechar, Bou Saada, Boumerdes, Tipaza, Tamanrasset, El Oued, Chlef, Adrar and Algiers.

Commending the efforts of the independent candidate’s campaign staff and of all its members who represented it well, the Institution pledges to keep working for the success of this election and confirms its strong presence on polling day: it pledges to provide buses to carry voters living far from polling stations, to encourage them to turn out.

Finally, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution, its leadership and members, wish Algeria victory at this decisive moment, so that the voice of the Algerian people tells the whole world that Algeria comes first and above all else.

Glory to our martyrs.
