Bloc mourns Hamid Lounaouci, former transport minister and former adviser to the President

To God we belong and to Him we shall return
It is with deep sorrow that the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc learned of the death today of its friend Mr Hamid Lounaouci, aged 71, after a long illness.
The deceased held several responsibilities in the service of the State: he was a member of the People's National Assembly, then Minister of Transport, and later adviser to the President of the Republic in charge of associations, international non-governmental organisations and human rights.
Throughout his career he was known for his interest in public affairs, his constant attentiveness to civil-society actors and his commitment to supporting associations and fostering dialogue and consultation with all their components.
On this sad occasion, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc, its president, members and affiliates, extend their heartfelt condolences and sympathy to his family, relatives and friends, and to all who knew him and accompanied him along his path.
We pray that Almighty God grants him His vast mercy and forgiveness, welcomes him into His paradise, and gives his family and loved ones patience and solace.
May God have mercy on the deceased and grant him a place in paradise.
For the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc
The President, Djelloul Chetouane
One Homeland, One Nation, One History, One Destiny
