Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc backs Fateh Boutbig’s bid for the presidency of the Pan-African Parliament

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc is following closely the race for the presidency of the Pan-African Parliament and expresses its full support for Algeria’s candidate, Dr Fateh Boutbig, who is contesting this continental election with an ambitious reform vision reflecting the aspirations of Algeria and Africa for strong and effective institutions.

We commend the programme put forward by Mr Boutbig, which aims to transform the Pan-African Parliament from an advisory body with limited powers into a genuine legislative institution that contributes to African decision-making, strengthens continental sovereignty and supports development and economic integration.

We also declare our support for this political course, which is consistent with the principles of national forces, foremost the El Moustakbal party, in supporting Algerian talent and enabling it to represent the country in international forums and defend just African causes.

In this context, we condemn all attempts to disrupt or weaken Algeria’s presence in this important contest, and affirm that such practices will not deter Algeria from its leading role on the continent or weaken the resolve of its candidates.

Our support for Dr Fateh Boutbig is support for the project of a strong Africa, independent in its decisions, united and able to meet global challenges in a spirit of solidarity and integration.
