Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc sets out its vision of a strong civil society and its relations with political actors

Given the challenges facing our country, we at Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc believe that Algeria’s strength is not built on slogans but on fieldwork and sincere effort.

We aspire to build a civil society that is:

• aware of its national responsibility;
• united in the face of crises;
• active in serving citizens;
• a genuine partner in development and stability.

Our vision puts the citizen at the heart of every initiative and works to:

• support and empower young people;
• spread a culture of volunteering and solidarity;
• strengthen national unity, away from all forms of division;
• help find realistic solutions to society’s problems.

We believe civil society is not a substitute for the State, but a supporting force and a bridge of trust between the State and citizens.

Our relationship with political actors

Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc affirms that its relations with the various parties and political organisations are based on complementarity and consultation, while respecting the independence and role of civil society. Serving the nation requires all actors to join forces, away from any logic of dependency or narrow alignment.

Accordingly, the Bloc:

• is open to all serious initiatives that serve the national interest;
• contributes to dialogue and the exchange of views on social issues;
• retains the independence of its decisions and positions;
• refuses to be a tool for any political party.

Our aim is a balanced relationship: we consult… we complement each other… without losing our societal identity.
