Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc asks the National Observatory of Civil Society to support its Palestine initiative

As part of its commitment to establishing civil society as a key actor in defending the nation's causes, particularly in view of the grave humanitarian developments in the Gaza Strip, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Foundation is pleased to inform the national public that on 24 July 2025 it sent an official letter (ref. 324/ت.ح.م/2025) to Dr Ibtissem Hamlaoui, President of the National Observatory of Civil Society.

Subject: request for support for and assistance with the civil-society initiative in support of the Palestinian cause.

Content: the letter presented a national initiative launched on 22 July 2025 that seeks to activate the role of Algerian civil society in support of the Palestinian cause, through a grassroots, complementary approach that supports official and diplomatic efforts.

The main pillars of the initiative presented to the Observatory include:

• launching a parliamentary initiative bringing together political and civil efforts;
• proposing a permanent parliamentary committee for Palestine within the People's National Assembly;
• organising a parliamentary day of solidarity in Parliament;
• activating Algerian parliamentary diplomacy in support of the official position.

The Foundation requested:

• consideration of the initiative within the Observatory's remit;
• a coordination channel between the Foundation and the Observatory;
• institutional support to ensure the initiative's success and broaden its scope.

We note that the National Observatory of Civil Society replied officially, inviting the Foundation to submit the letter through the “Itrah Inchighalek” platform so that it can be handled under the established procedures.

For our part, we reaffirm our commitment to serving the Palestinian cause through all national and constitutional mechanisms, and call on associations, organisations and all components of society to join this conscious and responsible initiative.

Al-Quds is the cause of the whole nation… and Palestine is the responsibility of us all.
