Bloc condemns French far right’s hostile campaign against Algeria

Statement of condemnation on behalf of the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution

Following the frenzied hostile campaign waged by the French far right against Algeria, which clearly reflects deep-seated resentment and an obsolete colonial legacy, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution expresses its strong condemnation and utter rejection of these provocative statements and practices targeting Algeria’s sovereignty and the dignity of its proud people.

These repeated media and political attacks, which seek to revive a discourse of tutelage and blatant interference, are nothing but desperate attempts by racist currents still dreaming of a past gone for ever, failing to realise that Algeria today is stronger and that its sovereignty is an inviolable red line.

We warn the French far right of the consequences of these provocations and affirm that Algeria, its people and its institutions, will not stand idly by in the face of such cheap provocations. We also call on all the country’s active forces to confront this fierce attack and expose the malicious schemes targeting Algeria’s unity and stability.

Algeria is free and independent, and its honour cannot be tarnished by the remnants of obsolete colonial thinking. We are here, strong and steadfast, and our sovereignty is not negotiable.
