Bloc takes part in meeting in support of the Palestinian cause attended by Palestinian leader Osama Hamdan

Under the leadership of its president, Mr Djelloul Chetouane, the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution took part, as the only civil-society representative and alongside the Palestinian community in Algeria, in the briefing organised on Sunday by the Palestinian factions' representation in Algeria. The meeting was attended by prominent Palestinian leader Mr Osama Hamdan and by Algerian political figures and journalists.

Special thanks to Algeria from Osama Hamdan: in his address, Mr Hamdan expressed deep gratitude to Algeria, its leadership and people, for its historic role in supporting the Palestinian cause, praising in particular:

• Algeria’s role in defending the Palestinian resistance, having firmly opposed in international forums the inclusion of its factions on “terrorist” lists and affirmed that resistance is a legitimate right of all occupied peoples;
• Algeria’s support for Palestinian reconciliation, hosting the factions and backing efforts to unify Palestinian ranks;
• Algeria’s commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people through its consistent positions in international and regional organisations.

Algeria’s message: the presence of the Institution’s president Djelloul Chetouane and Mr Osama Hamdan at this historic meeting reflects the depth of the ties between Algeria and Palestine. As Mr Hamdan stressed, Algeria remains the bulwark defending the Palestinians and the right of peoples to liberation.
