Spokesman Abdelkader Guettacha to El Wassat: “We were the first to urge Tebboune to seek a second term”

The El Wassat daily published an article headlined “We were the first to urge Tebboune to run for a second term — The next president faces economic and geopolitical challenges”, reporting remarks by the official spokesman of the Hisn Al-Mateen Bloc Institution, Dr Abdelkader Guettacha, at the newspaper’s forum.
Dr Guettacha said the Institution was the first to call on President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to seek a second term, having noted that he had honoured most of the 54 commitments he made to the Algerian people in 2019. He described the candidate’s programme as clear and aimed at completing the country’s development, especially in the economy, by moving from a rent-based to a diversified economy.
He explained that the Institution includes members affiliated with various parties and that it coordinates, within the independent candidate’s campaign directorate, with the supporting parties, whose number grew from 6 at the start — including the FLN, the El Bina movement, the RND and El Moustakbal — to 17. He added that the Bloc has campaign offices and delegations in several wilayas, including six municipalities in Ain Defla, as many in the delegated wilaya of Bou Saada, as well as in Tlemcen.
He described the campaign as transparent, calm and free of populist rhetoric, and announced that the Institution would hold campaigns aimed at young people in the coming days to encourage them to vote on 7 September.
